I love my clients.  They provide me with entertainment, knowledge, and stories to share.  In the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of coaching several diverse people in public speaking.  Their backgrounds vary (2 college students and 1 full time professional) but their central issue is the same.  When it comes to presentations they have a pre-occupation with other people.  This is suicide.

The blog-o-sphere is littered with public speaking tips and know how so I’m going to keep this short.  When you present information to a group of people treat it as if you are talking to a group of friends.  Imagine yourself in a relaxed scenario with your friends.

  • Do you fiddle with your hands? No
  • Do you tap the back of your chair? No
  • Do you click your pin? No
  • Do you rub your knees together? No

If you don’t do it with your friends don’t do it when you present.  This is one of the most simple and effective tips that anyone can ever hope to receive.

Have a great day :) .
